Sydney, 18 April 2023
The recipients of the prestigious 2023 Australian Dental Association New South Wales (ADA NSW) and BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Grant, which contributes significantly to the professional development of young dentists, have been revealed.
Dr Kevin Lee has been awarded the top prize of a $5000 grant to support his professional development through the ADA NSW Centre for Professional Development (CPD), with Dr Henrietta Wu receiving the second prize of a $2500 grant.
Based at ADA NSW’s world-class training facility at St Leonards on Sydney’s North Shore, ADA NSW CPD is the leading provider of professional development for dentists and their practice teams in Australia.
“Both Dr Lee and Dr Wu impressed us with their enthusiasm, desire and commitment to further improve their already impressive dentistry knowledge,” ADA NSW President Dr Rohan Krishnan said. “They are clearly both tremendous assets to our profession and I wish them both every success for the future.
“ADA NSW CPD’s expert personnel and commitment to quality contribute to its reputation as the number one dental continuing education provider in the country. Not only is it continually evolving to equip dentists with the skills they need, it is a huge part of ADA NSW’s aim of helping our members be the best dentists they can be.
“BOQ Specialist has been a greatly appreciated partner of ADA NSW. We are very grateful for their support of the Recent Graduate Grant and look forward to working further with them over the coming years.”
University of Sydney 2018 graduate Dr Lee and Dr Wu, who graduated from the University of Queensland in 2019, were selected as winner and runner-up after outlining their achievements and commitment to further learning during the application process.
BOQ Specialist General Manager, Keith Strachan, added: “We are proud to partner once again with the ADA NSW to recognise two outstanding grant recipients in Dr Lee and Dr Wu. Not only does this mark the strength of our longstanding relationship, but our shared commitment to supporting the next generation of dentists here in New South Wales. “Both Dr Lee and Dr Wu’s dedication to their professional development and their passion for delivering the highest quality of care to their patients and their communities is impressive, and a great example to other young dentists”, said Mr Strachan.
Launched in 2018, the Recent Graduate Grant recognises the commitment of early career dentists to high-quality ongoing learning and professional development.
This is the third year two prizes have been awarded to successful recipients and this year’s Grant was open to ADA NSW recent graduate members who completed their studies between 2015 and 2022.
