Term deposit maturity instructions

Steps for setting maturity instructions in the BOQS mobile app (requires app version 23.12 and above) or online banking.

Mobile app


  • Reinvest your principal and interest balance

    1. Log in to your BOQ Specialist mobile app.

    2. Select the Term Deposit you want to provide maturity instructions for.

    3. Select the top right menu button (⋮) then select ‘Maturity instructions’ then click the ‘Set Up’ button.

    4. Select ‘Yes, I want to reinvest’.

    5. Select the term for your new Term Deposit by scrolling through the different terms and their rates (please note, rates are indicative and your new Term Deposit rate will be the applicable rate for the selected term on the day of reinvestment).

    6. Select ‘Principal + interest’ from the ‘Reinvestment options’ dropdown.

    7. Select the ‘Next’ button to review your maturity instructions and finally, select ‘Confirm’ to submit your maturity instructions.

  • Reinvest your principal balance

    1. Log in to your BOQ Specialist mobile app.

    2. Select the Term Deposit you want to provide maturity instructions for.

    3. Select the top right menu button (⋮) then select ‘Maturity instructions’ and then click the ‘Set Up’ button.

    4. Select ‘Yes, I want to reinvest’.

    5. Select the term for your new Term Deposit by scrolling through the different terms and their rates (please note, rates are indicative and your new Term Deposit rate will be the applicable rate for the selected term on the day of reinvestment).

    6. Select ‘Principal’ from the ‘Reinvestment options’ dropdown.

    7. Select an account from the ‘Account for interest’ dropdown where the interest earnt will be deposited.

    8. Select the ‘Next’ button to review your maturity instructions and finally, select ‘Confirm’ to submit your maturity instructions.

  • Reinvest a partial balance

    1. Log in to your BOQ Specialist mobile app.

    2. Select the Term Deposit you want to provide maturity instructions for.

    3. Select the top right menu button (⋮) then select ‘Maturity instructions’ and then click the ‘Set Up’ button.

    4. Select ‘Yes, I want to reinvest’.

    5. Select the term for your new Term Deposit by scrolling through the different terms and their rates (please note, rates are indicative and your new Term Deposit rate will be the applicable rate for the selected term on the day of reinvestment).

    6. Select ‘Partial reinvestment’ from the ‘Reinvestment options’ dropdown.

    7. Confirm the amount to be reinvested in the ‘Reinvestment amount’ box.

    8. Select an account from the ‘Account for remaining balance’ dropdown where the remaining funds will be deposited.

    9. Select the ‘Next’ button to review your maturity instructions and finally, select ‘Confirm’ to submit your maturity instructions.

  • Withdraw all funds from your maturing term deposit

    1. Log in to your BOQ Specialist mobile app.

    2. Select the Term Deposit you want to provide maturity instructions for.

    3. Select the top right menu button (⋮) then select ‘Maturity instructions’ and     then click the ‘Set Up’ button.

    4. Select ‘No, I do not want to reinvest’.

    5. Select an account from the ‘Account for interest amount transfer’ and ‘Account for principal amount transfer’ dropdowns where the funds will be deposited. You can select the same account in both dropdowns if you want to withdraw  the funds to the same account.

    6. Select the ‘Next’ button to review your maturity instructions and finally, select Confirm’ to submit your maturity instructions.

Online banking


  • Reinvest your principal and interest balance

    2. In the entity manager, select the action menu (⋮) to the right of the Term Deposit you want to provide maturity instructions for.

    3. Then select ‘Setup maturity instruction’.

    4. Select the term for your new Term Deposit by clicking on the arrows to scroll through the different terms and their rates (please note, rates are indicative and your new Term Deposit rate will be the applicable rate for the selected term on the day of reinvestment).

    5. Below the terms, click ‘Yes, I Want to Reinvest’.

    6. Select ‘Principal + Interest’ from the ‘Reinvestment options’ dropdown.

    7. Click the ‘Continue’ button to review your maturity instructions and finally, click ‘Continue’ to submit your maturity instructions.

  • Reinvest your principal balance

  • Reinvest a partial balance

    4. Below the terms, click ‘No, I Do Not Want to Reinvest’.

    5. Select an account from the ‘Which account should the interest amount be transferred to upon maturity?’ and ‘Which account should the principal amount be transferred to upon maturity?’ dropdowns where the funds will be deposited. You can select the same account in both dropdowns if you want to withdraw the funds to the same account.

    6. Click the ‘Continue’ button to review your maturity instructions and finally, click ‘Continue’ to submit your maturity instructions.

FAQs

  • How can I enter maturity instructions via online banking or the mobile app?

    The above guide explains how to provide maturity instructions via online banking or the mobile app. Please note that if you choose this method to notify us, you have until 4pm AEST on the banking business day prior to the term deposit maturity date to enter instructions.

     

    For other methods of entering your instructions, please allow a minimum of 3 banking business days. For accounts with 2 signatories, both signatories will need to log into online banking or the mobile app to authorise the instructions.  

  • What other ways can I provide my maturity instructions?

    There are multiple ways you can input your maturity instructions. Allowing at least 3 banking business days prior to maturity, you can notify us by:

     

    • sending us a secure message via online banking or the mobile app

    or

    • calling our Client Service Centre, available 7-days a week on 1300 160 160 or +61 2 9293 2121 if calling from overseas

    or

    • contacting your relationship manager via email.

     

    Alternatively, you can enter maturity instructions yourself via online banking or the mobile app until 4pm AEST on the business day prior to your term deposit’s maturity date.

  • What authorisation is required to set maturity instructions?

    If your account requires more than one signatory to authorise transactions, maturity instructions must be authorised by both signatories of the account. For example, if the account is two-to-sign, one signatory will need to enter the maturity instructions and the other signatory will need to log in to online banking to authorise the instructions.

     

    Note that authorisation of maturity instructions by two signatories can only be done through one platform, either through online banking, calling your relationship manager or calling our Client Service Centre, available 7 days a week on 1300 160 160 or +61 2 9293 2121 if calling from overseas. 

  • What are the maturity instruction options I have to choose from via online banking and the mobile app?

    There are three options available for entering your term deposit maturity instructions:

     

    • You can reinvest in the same term deposit again.
    • You can choose a different term.
    • You can opt to pay out your term deposit to your own BOQ Specialist account or another designated account.
  • What are the term deposit maturity reinvestment options?

    There are three options available for term deposit reinvestment:

     

    • Original amount reinvestment (“principal”)
    • Total amount reinvestment (“principal” and “interest”)
    • Partial reinvestment (an amount less than original investment)

  • Which products are available for reinvestment in online banking and the mobile app?

    The following Australian Dollar products are available for reinvestment in the mobile app or online banking:

    • 30-Day Term Deposit
    • 60-Day Term Deposit
    • 90-Day Term Deposit
    • 120-Day Term Deposit
    • 150-Day Term Deposit
    • 180-Day Term Deposit
    • 270-Day Term Deposit
    • 1-Year Term Deposit

    To provide maturity instructions for a foreign currency term deposit, or a term longer than one year, please send us a secure message through online banking by logging in and clicking on the Secure Messages tab to create a new message. You can also do this through the mobile app by logging in, selecting More on the bottom toolbar, then selecting Secure Messages to create a new message. You can also call our Client Service Centre on 1300 160 160.

     

  • Can I reinvest in a product schedule or term that is not shown in online banking?

    Yes. If the desired interest payment schedule or term is not listed in the mobile app or online banking, you may call our Client Service Centre on 1300 160 160 to discuss your needs.

  • Can I withdraw my original investment amount and interest amounts to different accounts at maturity?

    Yes, you can.

     

    After selecting the ‘No, I do not want to reinvest’ option, you will be prompted to enter a payout account for the principal, then prompted a second time to choose an account for the interest.

     

    You can choose to payout to your BOQ Specialist account or another linked account.

  • Can I change my mind after entering maturity instructions through online banking and the mobile app?

    If you change your mind, you can choose the ‘delete maturity’ instruction option in online banking or the mobile app from the account list.

     

    You may then enter new maturity instructions up to 4pm AEST on the business day prior to your term deposit’s maturity date.

    Alternatively, allowing at least 3 banking business days prior to maturity you can notify us through:

     

    • sending us a secure message via Online Banking or through the BOQ Specialist Mobile App

    or

    • calling our Client Service Centre, available 7-days a week on 1300 160 160 or +61 2 9293 2121 if calling from overseas.
